Some feel that our destiny is in the hands of a higher being while skeptics believe our planet has always been “breathing” and that the conditions we see are a natural occurrence. The Riot series has no political agenda except the belief that any issue or debate that brings to the table ideas that inspire people to consider the protection of all species and our planet, that encourages them to think twice about waste and how to save energy can only create positive side effects that are good for Earth. The foundation of Freedom of Creation is based upon digitalizing products around us, and by doing so helping to reduce the human footprint on our environment by using less storage, transportation, material, labor etc. The Riot series is the first light in our collection which benefits not only from all of these waste-reduction initiatives but is also the first Freedom of Creation product which will only work with Megaman Compact Fluorescent energy saving bulbs. Other parts from the light also originate from recycled items such as metal parts, switches and cables. The Riot series will be sold as a limited edition until the global warming problem has been solved.

| Designed: | 2008 | | Designer | Janne Kyttänen | | Janne Kyttanen was born in 1974 in Hameenlinna, Finland. He started his industrial design studies at the Escola De Disseny, Elisave in Barcelona in 1996. He then moved to The Netherlands and graduated from The Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2000.
Following graduation he was offered a position as a designer and 3D visualizer at one of the leading industrial design bureaus in The Netherlands, Sinot Design Associates. During his two year stay at Sinot Design Associates, he worked with clients in the banking, public transport, aviation, consumer electronics and cosmetics industries. During his studies Janne proved the potential that Rapid Prototyping techniques can be used as manufacturing tools. He introduced a line of Augmented Reality and Rapid Manufactured-based products as his thesis for graduation. This project laid the foundation for Freedom of Creation and Janne registered the company in Helsinki, Finland in 2000. Since 2002, Freedom of Creation has been based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Among the most recent accolades attributed to Freedom Of Creation are the amazing Electric Light Shoe for Onitsuka Tiger, new solutions for the Hyundai Qarmaq concept car with two of its first designs acquired for the MoMA collection and amazing packaging products for the luxury yachting company Feadship. Janne Kyttanen was selected as Young Designer of the Year in 2007 by the Design Forum Finland. Additionally, Freedom Of Creation was prized with the Red Dot Design Award in 2005, the Interior Innovation Award in 2006 and has been nominated for the Index Award in 2007.
